This toy (and all of the little people toys) is a classic for good reason! The people/animals are big enough (and no small parts in the sets) that even very young children/infants can play. Batteries last forever in them, clear sounds, fun actions, many different sets (animals with fuzzy hair, people of different ethnicity, varying themes). Durable, they last forever. I have a barn and doll house my 5 year old still plays with my 18 month old. We also have dinosaurs, an amusement park, school bus, fire truck, car, etc. All great toys, I'll probably keep around in storage even after my kids are grown!

This is our first little people toy for my son and I was not expecting much as he's still too young for pretend play. I was pleasantly surprised. This is the best toy we've ever paid money for in our house! It is the only one where he will lay on the floor and play by himself, keeping himself amused for at least 10 to 30 minutes at a time (previously unheard of for us). My son doesn't like electronic toys with lots of noises so we don't even use the sounds. He loves to open and close doors and the openings are all a good size for him to fit the animals through. The silo that opens and closes is great fun for him, as is the chicken in the hayloft. As he grows into more ways to play with this toy, I can see it being a great investment for quite a while. I have since bought other little people toys but none have come close to this one. I highly recommend it.

I recently bought this toy for my grandson, who is two years old. I was afraid it would be too heavy and large for him to carry, but it is just right Overall, I am very happy with the purchase. My grandson enjoys setting up the animals in various positions and opening and closing the sliding doors. His favorite thing to do is to make a square with the fence and enclose all the animals, standing side by side. (This is quite difficult, as the fence is rather small). The barn and the animals seem sturdy but I don't have them long enough to know for sure. My only complaint about the set is that there is no latch, so the barn can open when moved from place to place. Years ago I had a similar style barn for my children and one handle had a piece that clicked under and locked into the other handle. I think Melissa and Doug should consider doing this in their future production.

This was an unexpectedly great purchase, with wonderful detail, smooth-working parts and ample room for play and lodging of the horses and other animals! I reviewed and shopped online scrupulously for several hours, until I selected this Fold-and-Go Mini Barn (as well as the Fold-and-Go Mini Stable). I bought this and the mini stable to go with the Schleich horses and other like-sized Schleich animals we've gifted to a 6 year old granddaughter. The barn (as well as the stable) was a hit! I also added a section of Melissa and Doug wooden articulating fence (about 3 feet long)to go with it; though it's supposed to be sized for the larger horses, it was also a real pleaser, working well for these animals and this barn and the stable! (She decided to paint all the wooden articulating fencing barn red, and that actually turned out very nicely; just dilute the paint -- we used artists' acrylic -- so fencing still moves!)

After an initial snag when I opened the set and the cow did not work and I had to call twice to have it replaced - once after it was never sent when I was told it would be, I'm very pleased with the product. My son loves his new "army men." I must admit considering what is out on the market this is a fun set for him to play with. I like the different nationalities and the fact they're in different colors. I recommend the set for play, but was a bit dismayed that they are made out of a relatively fragile plastic so they are easily broken off stands if stepped on and small parts, such as German hand-grenades and rifle barrels, are easily broken. The set arrived with half a dozen or so broken parts already. Overall, the set is okay, and I only say that because of their lack of durability and price, which is a bit steep. But, as I said, my son loves them and plays with them.

Littlest Pet Shop Friends for the Wii was a huge hit in our house. My little party planner had a great time getting ready for the "party of the year" with her pet friends. This was one of those games I had to keep telling her she'd been playing too long. And, if you have kids you know that's a major indicator that the game was pretty cool. I like that it's a multi-player game that caused the kids to do some problem solving. There is a lot of reading (as mentioned in the other reviews), so be prepared to read if your child is younger than 2nd grade.

We bought this for our 6 year old. She is just starting to read, so my husband and I find ourselves having to sit with her and read every thought bubble. The problem with this is, most conversations are full of ridiculous jokes and extra reading to make one point.

The graphics are cute, the idea (the pets throwing a surprise party for a new friend's arrival) is a good one. The scenery and games are also fun for my daughter.

While the previous Pet Shop game was mostly wandering around and playing games, this one is more task oriented. I am curious as to what lies behind the surprise party, because it will be anti-climactic if that is the end of it all. However, by then, maybe all this silly conversation will die down and more game playing will happen.

I would rather the pets talk themselves than to have a lot of reading to do. If they would like to pretend that it is helping my child read, the speech would not be as goofy and the words would be less 'cutesy'.

So sure, she loves it, we hate it.

I really thought that my 5 year old daughter would love this game, but she doesn't. It features cute little pet shop characters and since the pet shop toys are intended for kids her age, I thought the game would be too. My daughter enjoys games like Cake Mania on the PC and this game has mini games that are similar, but it is too hard for her to control and she gets upset when her time starts running out, it made her cry one time. I even had trouble keeping up on one of the mini games as I am new to the Wii and aiming is something I need to practice more. I think the game would be great for a 7 or 8 year old, but then the subject matter may be to "babyish" for kids that age, I'm not sure. I gave it 3 starts because I think that a kid who is into the Pet Shop toys and who can aim well with the Wii-mote would really enjoy this game. My kid gave it her best for about 20 minutes before giving up. We are exchanging it today for a different game.

I'm always on the lookout for Wii games that my 5-year-old granddaughter can play. This has been the biggest hit yet! She loves this game. She has played it through numerous times - collecting all the pets then starting over again. She loves dressing the pets and taking care of them. You can quickly switch from one pet to the other and then scratch, feed, and dress them. She loves all the games that are included.

The main goal is to adopt pets. You start with three pets. You earn the right to adopt more pets by playing games with the pets you have. The games are fun and can be played at any time. There are three levels (easy, medium, and hard) on every game, so they are suitable for a wide age group. I love playing some of the games. You earn "kibble" by playing games and picking up coins. The kibble is used to buy new pets, toys, and accessories. There are a variety of pets - a monkey, a polar bear, a giraffe, cats, dogs, and ponies - and they are adorable. You can go to the salon and select accessories - glasses, collars, and hats - for each pet.

There is some reading throughout the game, and each pet has to be named. She doesn't read or write, so she needs my help with those aspects of the game. Children who can read and write would need no help with this game. My granddaughter and I both love this game, and we love playing it together. I highly recommend it!

My daughter just turned 6 and is not very good at playing video games yet. She loves Mario Kart for the Wii but every other game has been too difficult for her to play by herself so she hasn't found any other games she can truly enjoy. Until now! This game is PERFECT for kids of all ages. She can play all buy herself. She is good at several of the mini games you have to play in order to earn "kibble coins" to buy new pets. She loves it. It is so girly and cute. She loves dressing up her pets and making sure they are happy (fed and scratched). I have no complaints about this game at all. It is the perfect game for girls!

My 7 year old daughter picked this game at Gamestop (priced better on Amazon, even with reward card). We obsessively played together for three days to unlock all the new worlds (Plaza {already unlocked}, Garden, Winter, and Jungle). We collected all the 33 characters (including Giraffe {we google searched for cheat code}) along the way! All the characters are so cute and you can dress them up!

You have to complete all the mailbox tasks to progress in the game. There was only one task (asked two times) that was frustrating. You had to dress all designated characters in the same 3 accessories for a task. Then you'll want to redress them back. That was sort of a pain, but just a minor frustration in a lot of FUN!

My 5 year old son prefers Mario Kart, but he still had fun playing along with us. Now that the Littlest Pet Shop game is completed, we will enjoy playing with all the characters in the 4 different worlds with the 16 mini games. We love exploring the worlds and playing on all of the fun equipment like slides, tight rope, swings, hamster wheels, etc... You can also visit certain coin houses from time to time and collect tons of coins. These open back up periodically as you play!

I would deffinitely recommend this game for all young children! I would buy from Amazon for a few dollars cheaper too.

I bought this game for my 7 year old daughter and she absolutely loves it. She loves collecting the pets and unlocking the games. Very nice graphics too. She's spent many hours playing it and I'm sure she'll play it much more in the future. Her only complaint is that it can take a long time to collect some of the pets and she gets tired of waiting.

Lots of fun animal sounds, songs, and hours and hours of playtime fun. My oldest daughter has never tired of playing with this set, even after three years. She is now 4 years old and still spends lots of time every day playing with her farm set, and now her little sister, who is 1 year old is joining in on the playing and learning fun too! This toy is also unbelievably durable! It has been played with non stop, stood on, jumped off of (my daughter is a little dare-devil), and used so much and it is still (very surprisingly) in perfect shape - nothing has broken or come loose or anything! This is a toy that will last years and years for my 3 rambunctious kids and we also plan on saving this toy (and all of the little people toys they have,as they are all extremely durable and fantastic) for our grandkids one day!
